Noisy Trumpet Delivers Explosive Marketing Campaign for Alamo Fireworks

With over 175 locations and 28 mega stores in three states, Alamo Fireworks has everything you need to spark a good time. Our client is a family-owned retail and wholesale fireworks company who promises to deliver 100% happy memories guaranteed. Alamo Fireworks just wrapped up a booming Fourth of July season with record-breaking sales and we are thrilled to have been a part of the noise!

Noisy Trumpet supported their business through digital marketing services including social media management, SMS marketing, email marketing, web development and a digital advertising campaign that resulted in over 2.5 million total impressions. We also helped our client digitally promote their first-ever Alamo-To-Go Curbside Pickup with contactless service. This service allowed customers to order their fireworks ahead, skip the lines and protect themselves and employees during the pandemic by limiting the amount of person-to-person contact.

The overall goal of our campaign was to raise brand awareness in their key markets leading up to the Fourth of July, drive curbside orders and increase sales. In addition to the services we provided, our sister company, The PM Group provided traditional marketing support that included creative and print projects. Quarter Moon Productions also featured Alamo Fireworks on their lifestyle and travel show, YOLO TX, showing a firsthand look at their incredible assortment of fireworks.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for Texas’ favorite fireworks company this December. Stay tuned for our next campaign during New Year’s season as we help Alamo Fireworks light up the sky for another night of happy memories!

Operation Hero: Noisy Trumpet Gears Up With Grunt Style

“You don’t have to be a veteran to wear Grunt Style, but you do have to love freedom, bacon and whiskey,” says our new client! Noisy Trumpet is honored to work with the nationally recognized, veteran-owned apparel company, Grunt Style. The company’s mission is to deliver high quality, patriotic apparel designed for first-responders, military veterans and their friends and family.

In April, the company launched Operation Hero, a multi-city campaign to benefit the heroic men and women battling the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic. As part of the campaign, Grunt Style funded several initiatives in its two home cities – San Antonio, Texas and Chicago, Illinois – to support these heroes with essentials such as food and other critical needs.

Grunt Style donated 20,000 masks to Operation Homefront and $25,000 to The Pillars Christian Learning Center in San Antonio to cover tuition costs for over 200 families, many of them essential workers, across its four centers. The company also partnered with local restaurant businesses in San Antonio and Chicago to donate over 10,000 free meals to healthcare workers across numerous hospitals by the end of May.

In partnership with Next Level Apparel, Grunt Style also pledged to donate a minimum of 20,000 of their “Hero-defined” t-shirts to our nation’s heroes at various healthcare facilities.

To help bring awareness to Grunt Style’s generous efforts, Noisy Trumpet developed a public relations plan that included the development and distribution of media materials and media outreach to local, regional, national and trade publications, which resulted in over 580,000 total impressions in coverage.

During the current pandemic, brands are increasing their online presence and leveraging digital content more than ever – particularly with podcasts. According to Medium, “Podcasts are an ongoing opportunity to connect with your audience, personalize your brand, and grow your business.” Most recently, our team facilitated and secured an interview for Grunt Style on Brian Basho’s “I Got Your 6” podcast. The interview which featured Grunt Style Chief Strategy Officer Tim Jensen, helped our client tap into a niche market to promote their community initiatives while building overall brand awareness.

Just like Noisy Trumpet, Grunt Style is a community-first organization. They strive to make a difference by supporting those who aim to create a better future for all. Is your business making a difference in the community and need to get the word out about your next campaign? Contact us! We are just one call, like, follow, retweet and DM away.

Noisy Trumpet Brings Home Two PRSA Awards

Our team is thrilled to announce we have been selected as award recipients for PRSA’s 2020 San Antonio Del Oro Awards! PRSA San Antonio holds its annual Del Oro Awards contest to recognize the outstanding work and contributions produced by public relations professionals. This year, our work for two clients has been recognized in PRSA’s La Plata Awards division.

Foremost, San Antonio Sports’ “Power of Sport” campaign received a La Plata Excellence award in the category of Community Relations/Public Affairs. Noisy Trumpet developed an integrated and strategic community-focused public relations campaign based on research provided by Core Research linking youth sports to future career success. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness for San Antonio Sports, educate the public on how the organization benefits the community and raise funds to support the i play! afterschool program. Due to its success, San Antonio Sports has extended the “Power of Sport” campaign into 2020 and has expanded the i play! afterschool program to 10 new schools.

Furthermore, our 2019 campaign with The Devils River Conservancy (DRC) received a La Plata Merit award in the category of Social Media Campaigns. We executed a strategic and engaging social media campaign to help build the organization’s reputation, reinforce “Don’t Blow It” key messaging, and drive attendance to the “Wild Devils” fundraiser. By the end of the year, Noisy Trumpet grew the DRC’s social following to 5.8K followers and received 1.1M impressions, 2.1K messages and 77.2K engagements from users joining the conversation surrounding our campaign.

We are humbled to be rewarded for our efforts with these fine organizations. The virtual Del Oro Awards celebration will be held on Thursday, July 30 at 5 pm. For more information on each campaign, please see our case studies.

Noisy Trumpet Sister Agency, The PM Group, Continues Its Legacy of Charitable Giving

For over 32 years, our sister agency, The PM Group, has created a philanthropic culture of charitable giving, raising substantial funds annually in support of local nonprofit organizations. This year, we are proud to recognize their recent $50,000 donation to San Antonio Sports in support of the organization’s i play! afterschool program.

This donation was a direct result of The PM Group’s annual Texas Hold’em Charity Poker Tournament which took place on January 25, 2020 at Crown Ridge Banquet Hall in San Antonio, Texas. Noisy Trumpet helped promote the tournament through social, digital, and PR efforts and was a part of the volunteer team. One hundred percent of the net funds raised benefitted local charitable organizations like San Antonio Sports’ i play! afterschool program. In addition, another $30,000 was raised to benefit SA YES, Austin YES and CC YES, all 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

San Antonio Sports’ i play! afterschool is an innovative program that ignites a love of sport in 3rd through 5th graders, while teaching them life lessons about active living, good nutrition, and strong personal character. The program currently serves 1,450 children in 58 elementary schools in San Antonio. With the impact of the pandemic on the organization’s fundraising efforts, this donation was essential for ensuring the program continues to serve and expand throughout our community. The organization also leads several other initiatives including The Power of Sport, the Hall of Fame Tribute, and most recently, Stay Active. Stay Healthy.

“I am proud to continue The PM Group’s legacy of giving to such a worthy organization that impacts our community in so many ways,” said Fran Yanity, President and COO of The PM Group and CEO of Noisy Trumpet.

San Antonio Sports, whose mission is to transform the community through the power of sport, has been an outstanding partner to both our agencies and we are honored to see this contribution benefit such an inspiring initiative.

Stay tuned for more fundraising events with the Noisy Trumpet team. We’re just one call, like, follow, retweet, and DM away.

Noisy Trumpet Receives Recognition from PR Daily

Noisy Trumpet is excited to announce that our campaign with the Devils River Conservancy (DRC) has received an Honorable Mention award for PR Daily’s Digital Marketing and Social Media Awards in the category of “Public Affairs Campaign.” This category recognizes campaigns from around the globe that have influenced public policy through digital and social media channels.

Since 2018, Noisy Trumpet has proudly represented the Devils River Conservancy, a nonprofit organization with a mission to preserve and protect the Devils River and the lands within its watershed. In 2019, our team developed a strategic digital and social media campaign with a goal highlighting three specific initiatives:

  1. Position the DRC as an authority and thought leader in conservation efforts.
  2. Raise awareness of the “Don’t Blow It” campaign.
  3. Drive attendance to the organization’s “Wild Devils” fundraiser.

Our agency provided key message development, social media management, event promotion, email marketing, influencer marketing and digital advertising. As a result, our efforts influenced public opinion through the DRC’s affiliation with government leaders such as Texas Parks and Wildlife, Devils River Association, The Nature Conservancy, Shumla Archeological Research and Education Center and the Military Affairs Association. In addition, the Devils River was named the first International Dark Sky Sanctuary in Texas and the 6th in the world. This critical recognition validated the DRC’s work and raised their profile as a leader in conservation.

It is an honor to be acknowledged for our accomplishments with the Devils River Conservancy and to be internationally recognized for this successful body of work. For a full list of winners and honorable mentions, visit PR Daily’s 2020 Digital Marketing & Social Media Awards.

We are mutually passionate about their cause, and feel empowered by the opportunity to give back. To further supplement their fundraising efforts, SA YES’ 2020 Drive Away for Education Truck Raffle is underway and will take place June 1 – August 2, 2020. Tips to Prepare for a Social Media Crisis

Brands are given little to no time to prepare for a social media crisis, which has changed traditional crisis management strategies significantly. With its ability to spread news rapidly across a multitude of platforms, it can be difficult to control. Social media can exacerbate the problem at hand, but through proper planning, social listening and effective communication, you can minimize the damage. Whether you’re a large or a small brand, PR News’ Book of Crisis Management offers tips on how your organization can prepare:

1. Monitor owned and non-owned social media

Brands should monitor their owned and non-owned social media daily to allow more time for crisis preparedness. Non-owned social media includes blogs, message boards, forums, and any other platform your company does not own. These are places are often overlooked when battling a social media crisis. It’s best to set up alerts and other listening tools to notify you of any updates, especially when your brand is mentioned beyond the channels you own.

2. Keep an eye on your competitor

Monitoring other brands’ social media channels within your industry can act as a precedent for an impending crisis. This gives your brand the opportunity to see questions and comments from users, which can help you develop the appropriate responses. Observing what worked and didn’t work for them can guide your strategy.

3. Prepare your responses

Create a list of the questions you anticipate receiving and prepare the responses in advance. The midst of a crisis is not the time to be figuring out key messages. Have these responses already approved so that no time is wasted.

4. Halt non-crisis related social media

Once you’ve determined that your brand is in a crisis, the first step is to stop publishing all unrelated content for the duration of the crisis. Carrying on with regularly scheduled content could make your brand seem tone-deaf and insensitive. While this may mean temporarily blacking out your social media, it is necessary until you’re fully prepared
to handle the crisis.

5. Assign roles before the crisis

Establish a crisis management team and ensure that the organization’s mission and values are understood. Assign who monitors social channels, writes the responses, approves the responses, and publishes the responses. It’s also in your best interest to brief senior leaders with statistics and examples on the risks the brand could encounter on social
media.

Keeping track of engagements, mentions, demographics and other key metrics can serve as a guide for your next potential crisis. Looking for a PR team that plans ahead in order to minimize damage? Contact or stay social with us! We’re just one call, like, follow, retweet, and DM away.

SEO Tips to Improve Your Web Design

Search engine optimization (SEO) optimizes your online presence by pulling consumers in when they search keywords or phrases used by your company. It has become increasingly important to a brand’s overall marketing efforts as it boosts organic traffic to your site and can ultimately increase sales. While SEO can be implemented after a website is live, many businesses don’t realize that SEO should be incorporated into the web design process. This can help make the process efficient and cost-effective since all website changes are happening at the same time.

Here are some SEO best practices to help increase your website’s overall visibility, enhance user experience and create optimal results for your brand.

1. Consider ditching homepage sliders & carousels

Although they are still commonly used today, homepage sliders and carousels cause more harm than good by:

  • Slowing down website load times.
  • Pushing down your valuable content.
  • Appearing and functioning poorly on mobile devices.

2. Make your website mobile-friendly

  • Mobile-friendly design is paramount. Don’t just design with desktop in mind.
  • With so many people accessing web pages across a variety of devices, current web design practices entail using responsive design.
  • Keep in mind that important elements should have more prominence.
  • Because of its high visibility, the content that you place above the fold (on both mobile and desktop) should be the content that is most important to achieving your business goals.

3. Optimize your images

Optimization can be done in different ways, but it is the process of delivering high-quality images in the right size, format dimension and resolution. This will help improve things like page speed, boost SEO ranking and improve user experience.

  • Be sure to name and save your images accurately with SEO-friendly file names.
  • Don’t use large images, as it will slow loading time. The smaller and more compressed, the better. Google cannot read images with text in them. When possible, use live text.

4. Enhance your user experience

Good SEO isn’t just about the technical details; it’s also about helping people easily find the information they’re looking for and providing a great user experience on the site. An
attractive, easy-to-use interface will encourage visitors to stay on your site and find what they need.

  • Design each page with one single definitive purpose.
  • Understand your target audience’s needs and demands.
  • Action buttons need to stand out and include a clear description of their purpose.

5. Strategically place strong calls to actions (CTAs)

CTAs drive conversions and generate leads.

  • Make sure to have a clear CTA at the top of your page.
  • Call-to-action buttons should feature striking, action-oriented text. You want to tell users what to do and make it easy for them to do it. Your action words should go along with specific text relating to your offer like:
    • Let’s Talk
    • Reserve Your Seat
    • Download Whitepaper
